Lee Pascoe is in charge of this area of the law. He works full time in family law and two other people here also work in this area. Lee has over 15 years experience in this field and is an accredited member of the Law Society Family Law Panel
The main things we deal with are divorce, separation, financial matters, and residence/contact issues concerning children. We provide sympathetic, practical and professional advice. Our style is to try to reach a negotiated settlement, as amicably as possible. We appreciate that going through divorce or separation is a wretched time. Emotions run high and there is often anger, resentment, bitterness and confusion. Nonetheless, a conciliatory approach, rather than conflict, is usually the best way forward, especially when there are children in the middle of things.
We try to keep you fully informed of what is happening and why - so you feel involved in, and in control of, important decisions about your future.
If an agreed settlement just isn't possible we will of course "fight your corner" and try at all times to ensure that your own individual interests and rights are fully preserved and protected. If your case goes to court, Lee will often act for you drawing on the experience he has gained over the years representing clients in various courts throughout the South-East.
Before you marry, or start living with someone, we can talk to you about trying to reduce future conflict by using things like pre-nuptial agreements.
Initially we are happy to talk to you about family law issues for a short time (often by phone) without charge or obligation. We now no longer do legal aid (from 01/09/11) but we can still give you an idea if you might be eligible and point you to another supplier if you wish. In any case, we shall try to be as accommodating as we can on payment terms to assist you at a time when finances are often tight.
